Partnership Advisory

Why pSE Advisory is the resource you have been looking for.
1. Every partner of every firm can give you a list of the things that should be done but have not been. Why have they not been? Because they are busy.
2. They could also give you a list of things they are doing but they should not be doing, but there is no-one of sufficient seniority or experience to take it off their hands.
3. Your practice has good expertise in 1, 2 or 3 areas. You are looking for how to take that expertise to market and have clients in those sectors call you. It’s all in your head but you don’t have time to make it happen.
4. You are a growing firm but the partner meetings don’t seem to be hitting the mark. You are looking for input from someone who has been in your shoes but has also worked in a higher level environment where they have been where you want to get to, someone who can sit around the table and speak from a differnt experience.
5. Your technology is ho-hum. But you don’t have time to chase down the right solution. You want to be able to give your deliverables to someone at your level, who can bring you the options and then implement.
6. The structure, culture, or processes are not quite right. You want a partner to look into the particular issues, engage the staff, talk it through with the partners and collaborate on the solutions. But, you guessed it, you don’t have time.
Why is getting input at the right level a winning strategy?
At pSE Advisory, we know that partners are time poor. We’ve been there. We also know that the stuff the partners cannot get to is important. And, if only it could get done, the firm would be a better place. Using pSE Advisory means that the partners’ ideas and observations can be actioned, leading to momentum – that feeling of going forward. You get to utilise professional experience that most likely your partners do not have, and work with someone who also has sat in your seat. It’s a win-win all round because:
- You are talking to someone who is ‘at your level’, who has ‘been there’ and who ‘gets it’; someone who knows the outcomes you are looking for.
- Having the right independent voice around the table can assist in the discussion. This eases the tension that can build, provided there is an open mind approach/
- By moving things off your plate, you yourself gain your own momentum.
- Partners can spend more time on clients and business development.
- If you add up the partner hours saved on this engagement, assume say 70% of that can go into client relationship management, multiply by the partner charge out rate – the engagement will be cost neutral, your clients will be happier and so will you.
- Sometimes your team will relate more to an outsider when it comes to various projects.
What is our Partnership Advisory service?
Peter’s experience is broad. It is suggested you reveiw his experience and the concepts outlined above and consider how an extra pair of hands at partner level can give your firm some impetus. Peter will:
- Explore with you the engagement you are considering.
- It may be necessary to have a discovery meeting with relevant parties, eg the partnership as a whole or individually, or various team members. This may assist in teasing out the engagement in a more concise manner.
- An engagement proposal is presented, setting out background, basis of engagement, deliverables and timeline.
- Once accepted, the engagement begins and appropriate communciation to the relevant parties in the firm is instigated (it may be all partners, all staff etc)
- Regular reporting is provided, in accordance with the original proposal.
The scope and shape of how we help depends on you. A proposal and quote is provided once the scope is agreed.
